Getting to know YOUR dogs
In the autumn I ran a dog photo competition on my Facebook page, the best photo would win a doggy goodie bag. The
page had such great entries that I wanted to pull them together and show them all off! So, the team and I got in touch with the owners to ask some crucial dog questions. Here’s more about these great pet dogs, and thanks again to all those who took part.
Gypsy
Our dog is called Gypsy, we’ve had her for 6 months and love her to pieces. She’s a Romanian rescue dog and we have no idea of her breed, but we call her a scruffy mutt if anyone asks and that seems to suit her perfectly.
She loves sausages and cheese (who doesn’t) and loves to chase squirrels. She doesn’t know how to fetch a ball, she does follow them but doesn’t know she can bring it back to us to throw it again bless her.
She often sees Zoe’s dog, Dylan, on her morning walks.
Storm
My dog is Storm, a 6 mth-year-old German Shepherd. He loves to chew (teething I hope!) and play with squeaky toys. He is pretty intelligent but needs a lot of stimulation, which is like most puppies I guess.
I would recommend Buchan Country Park for a nice winter walk.
Bobby
Bobby’s a spritely 14 years young rescue Westie Cross. He was picked up as a stray in Wales. I think he was disappointed when he was caught as he loves to roam free and do his own thing, never listening to any calls to come. His favourite things are finding dropped food on walks, and windfall apples, a professional scrounger. Chasing squirrels especially the ones in his grandma’s garden!
His favorite walks are meandering forest paths with deep leaf litter or parks to play with other dogs, he loves everyone, other dogs, humans, the dog groomer, even the vets! He can’t wait to get in the door for his checkups.
His only dislikes are fireworks and thunder.
Brian and Tilly
Brian has two labradors to play with when we go to the woods, Brian has recently discovered the sea at Goring, and loves to walk along the sand. Tilley just loves walking and looks forward to meeting the grandchildren as she is 13 years old. Brian is 2.5 years old and loves playing with other dogs.
Winner, Pea
Finally, here is winner Pea enjoying her treats.
